Elvish Handwriting I (Lament for Gandalf)
Ink & Paper. I transcribed "Lament for Gandalf" to Elvish script. The "G" runes are in Cirth script. Golden rune is upside down as if it is "falling" and the ascending one is "white".. First six lines are in 'Quenya', other six are in 'Sindarin', several vowels are in Black Speech *cough*. "Grey" side lines transform into white in light.. And yes, I love churchwarden pipes and mithril scarves.. (ps: pardon the mute sounds) Based on the movie, "Lament for Gandalf" is a poem from Elvish Literature and chanted by the Elven chorus in Lothlórien. Gandalf is a Maia (from the Elvish root maya- "excellent, admirable"), he was one of the lesser Ainur (lets say demigod or angel) who entered Eä in the beginning of time and Elves sing this poem to mourn the passing of this thousands of years old angel called Olorin/Mithrandir (Gandalf) from their physical plane. I transcribed the whole text into original Elven script, tengwar, in this work.
